Puppets play a starring role in two shows at Festival 09 - the theatre production Peter and Wendy and the staged opera Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria.

New York company Mabou Mines reimagines the story of Peter Pan in Peter and Wendy at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. The company is renowned for producing multi-disciplinary creations integrating the work of visual artists, puppeteers and musicians. Peter and Wendy is an exuberant and haunting adaptation, with seven skilled puppeteers bringing J. M. Barrie's classic tale to life.

Handspring Puppet Company from South Africa presents Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria at the King's Theatre. For this innovative production the company has joined forces with Philippe Pierlot, his Belgium based ensemble the Ricercar Consort and visual artist and director William Kentridge. Opera singers, musicians, half life-sized puppets and animated film come together to retell the Greek myth of Ulysses.

We are giving away two tickets to see Peter and Wendy on Wednesday 2 September at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. To go in the draw please email marketing@eif.co.uk with your name, address, the subject heading 'Mabou Mines' and tell us the name of the director of Peter and Wendy. Entries close 5.30pm, 31 July 2009.
