Emotions were running high at the Edinburgh Playhouse as the State Ballet of Georgia took to the stage for the last section of their Mixed Bill show: the Georgian dance, Sagalobeli. In what must have been very difficult circumstances, the dancers valiantly performed without any apparent nerves, and like all their performances before, brought the house down.
On the second last night of the ballet company’s four night run at the Playhouse, audience members witnessed a moving moment. At the end of the show a group of young Russian fringe performers approached the stage and presented the Georgian dancers with flowers. This poignant act surely shows how art and artists can transcend all borders.
